
On the lead up to the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, which is been held in Turin, we are looking back at the countries participating in the Contest and their histories – past and present. Today we continue with Lithuania’s story.
Lithuania debuted at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, in Dublin, Ireland. Ovidijus Vyšniauskas participated with “Lopšinė mylimai”, finishing in 25th place and 0 points.
Lithuania have never cracked the Top 5. LT United represented Lithuania at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, in Athens, Greece. They participated with “We Are The Winners”, finishing in 6th place and 162 points.
The Roop represented Lithuania at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. They participated with “Discoteque”, finishing in 8th place in the Semi Final and 220 points.
Monika Liu will represent Lithuania at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, in Turin, Italy. She will perform “Sentimental”. Will she take Lithuania’s first victory?
