LTV, the Latvian national broadcaster, have announced that they have received 130 song submissions for Supernova 2022. A jury will determine the entries that will take part in the Contest, which is expected to consist of two Semi Finals and a Final in February – although the format is still to be confirmed.

Agnese Strause-Kubliņa, LTV Head of Children’s, Youth and Entertainment Programmes, had the following to say:

“In terms of genre, this is definitely the richest year of Supernova! Pop, folk music, electronic music and even heavy rock songs have been submitted to the competition. Among the applicants are also artists who have already represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest.”
