Over the course of April and May, on the lead up to the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, we celebrated the countries that participated in this year’s Contest, in Rotterdam. We are now remembering the countries that had previously participated in the Contest – today we remember Belarus.
Belarus debuted at the Contest in 2004, in Istanbul, Turkey. Aleksandra and Konstantin finished in nineteenth place in the semi final, with their entry “My Galileo”, scoring 10 points.
The most successful entry from Belarus was in 2007, when the Contest took place in Helsinki, Finland, Dmitry Koldun finished in sixth place, with his entry “Work Your Magic”, scoring 145 points.
The most recent Belarusian entry was due to be in 2020, when the cancelled Contest was due to take place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. VAL was due to represent Belarus with their entry “Da vinda”.
Join us tomorrow, as we remember Bosnia & Herzegovina at the Eurovision Song Contest. Let us know what you think about the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest – either in the comments below or on our FACEBOOK and TWITTER pages.
