
A couple of weeks ago, we revealed that Moldova and Montenegro wouldn’t be returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year – we can now look at a further four countries that won’t be returning.
Croatia’s broadcaster, HRT have revealed that they won’t return to the Contest in Gliwice due to the cost of participation. Croatia took victory in the first ever Junior Eurovision Song Contest back in 2003.
Cyprus’ broadcaster, CyBC have revealed that they won’t return to the Contest in Gliwice due to a “management decision”. Cyprus took 8th place – their best placing in 2004 and 2006.
Latvia’s broadcaster, LTV have revealed that they won’t return to the Contest in Gliwice due to prioritising the Eurovision Song Contest and Eurovision Choir events. Latvia took 9th place – their best placing in 2003.
Slovenia’s broadcaster, RTVSLO have revealed that they won’t return to the Contest in Gliwice due to the cost of participation. Slovenia took 3rd place – their best placing in 2015.
