8th April – 51 Years Ago Today
On this day in 1967, the 12th Eurovision Song Contest took place in the Hofburg Palace, Vienna. Sandie Shaw took part for United Kingdom, becoming the first entry to win for her country. Sandie Shaw finished with a 25 point margin over her nearest competitor, Sean Dunphy from Ireland.
