Welcome to Meet The Team, a series of articles introducing ourselves to you, the Eurovision Irelanders out there! During this fortnight, we will also be meeting our extended family, along with other members of the press and delegation members too. Next up is our Editor-In-Chief, Garrett.

What Are Your Earliest Memories Of Eurovision?

Johnny Logan in a dodgy white suit in 1980 but with fab hair.

What Is Your Favourite Eurovision Year?

1993 – Eurovision in a stable hosted by a broadcaster that was almost broke. What could go wrong – well a vintage year of songs, a nail biting voting sequence and a legend of a winner Ms Niamh Kavanagh.

Which Eurovision Song Contest’s Have You Attended?

Too many to recall or to give my age away!

What Is Your Favourite Eurovision Entry?

I’m biased but ‘In Your Eyes’ by Niamh Kavanagh. As for key changes you can’t beat that one!

What Are Your Best And Worst Eurovision Moments?

Best – Conchita winning as it was a moment that got Esc back on the global map.

Worst – the Russia-Ukraine dispute this year. EBU seriously dropped the ball!

Which Five Eurovision Artists, Alive Or Ressurected, Would You Invite To Your Fantasy Dinner Party?

Conchita cause I love her and we have fun all the times we meet. And Abba cause it’s ABBA! Plus they count as 4!

What Is Your Favourite Host City?

Baku as it was truly a voyage into the unknown.

What Is Your Guilty Eurovision Pleasure?

Paul Oscar from Iceland. That was art, that was bonkers and there was crotch grabbing for the first time at Eurovision!

Finally, What Does Life Look For You Outside Of The Eurovision Bubble?

Fabulous as always!
