LIVE BLOG at 20:00 CET
Duel 1:
Andreas Weise – ‘Bring out the fire‘ vs Linus Svenning – ‘Forever starts today‘
Garrett’s Thoughts
Am really annoyed at this Duel as i like both songs and they should have been Direct To Final Already :-(
Andreas brings the Glitz, Glam, Show Biz and the Tight Trousers ;-) 4 qualities that every Andra Chansen should have.
Who doesn’t like a bad boy – well who will admit to it. Tattoos and piercings and tons of drums this has it all. Linus brings that something different to #MelFest.
I feel like Meryl Streep in Sophie’s Choice trying to pick one of my children!
OK – I think Andreas will edge it slightly!
RESULTS : LINUS SVENNING wins the Duel and goes to the Final – Congrats!
Now there is a Melodifestivalen Duel – Jon Ola Sand V Loreen – My money is on Loreen!
Duel 2:
Hasse Andersson – ‘Guld och gröna skogar‘ vs Kristin Amparo – ”I see you”
Hasse is just a big cuddly Swedish Teddy Bear! He is Old School Schlager and this had the crowd in frenzy! You swear it was Justin Bieber on the stage. Gonna be hard to beat him! Yee Haw!
Kristin put in a stunning performance but after Hasse’s Schlagertastic song before her the audience fell somewhat silent. Shame. I think this is a clean cut result!
Garrett’s Thoughts
Hasse will win by a landslide!
RESULTS : HASSE goes through to the Grand Final
Loreen takes to the stage for a rendition of her new song ‘Pagerlight’. She was wearing Lady Gaga’s red Oscar gloves and she had lots or duck tape covering her breasts as she appeared topless.
Duel 3
Dolly Style – ”Hello hi” vs Dinah Nah – ‘Make me (La La La)‘
Every 5 your old girl will torment their parents to vote for Dolly Style. They are totally OTT and unoffensive and that is their charm – think of Bambi and you like them!
This is a song of 2 halfs – the funky break down is really good but the verses fall short for me.
Garrett’s Thoughts
Oh Dolly Style has to get it as the final would be dull without them!
RESULT : Dinah Nah WINS THE DUEL and goes to the Grand Final – Shocked!
Filippa Bark took to the stage for her own unique song ‘Don’t Compete in Music’ – A winner if I ever heard it ;-)
Filippa even dragged Papa Schlager aka Christer Bjorkman up on stage to sing this one!
Duel 4
Behrang Miri feat. Victor Crone – ‘Det rår vi inte för‘ vs Samir & Viktor – ‘Groupie‘
Behrang Miri feat. Victor Crone – ‘Det rår vi inte för‘ for me is a quality song. No gimmicks and mixes rapping and singing seamlessly. Opea vocals provided by Malena Erman from Sweden 2009. However I think they are up against a Swedish current phenomena that is Samir & Viktor. Their song has been selling bucket loads in Sweden. Who could reject those 2 pretty Scandi faces!!
Garrett’s Thoughts
I think Samir and Viktor have it though I would go for Behrang and Victor.
RESULT : SAMIR & VIKTOR win the DUEL and go through to the Grand FINAL
Now some class. What happens when you mix Sanna with Sweden’s first entry at Eurovision? MAGIC
So did Sweden make the right decisions? Are there any potential winners of Melodifestivalen there? Remember their 2013 winner came from Andra Chansen!
Let us know.
