Over the weekend the annual ‘Kristallen Gala’ took place in Sweden. The ‘Kristallen Gala’ is the Swedish version on the Emmy Awards and one of their special guest performers of the night was Eurovision winner Loreen.

She performed the song ‘Sugar Man’. This was originally recorded by Sixto Rodríguez and the subject of a documentary of the same name which won a Gala award for Best Documentary. Loreen’s performance was used for the ‘In Memoriam’ segment of the show remembering those from Swedish TV and Film whom have died over the past year.

As we await Loreen’s new album, her performance of ‘Sugar Man’ is deeper, darker and more emotional than her Eurovision exploits. If it is a taste of things to come then we are excited!
