Details of the Sanremo Festival for 2014 were released yesterday. We were very clear in telling you that it is no guarantee that a winner or either a contestant at the festival will be the Italian representative at Eurovision.
Two names that have been mentioned by Italian media are Giusy Ferreri and Emma Marrone.
Giusy Ferreri – whom is participating at the Sanremo Festival – came to fame from being the runner-up in the Italian X-Factor in 2008. In June 2008 she released her début EP which included her first single “Non ti Scordar mai di me” written by Italian pop singer Tiziano Ferro. The song reached #1 where it stayed for fifteen consecutive weeks. Many refer her to be the Italian version of Linda Perry.
Emma Marrone – After time spent in several bands, Marrone won the Italian talent show “Amici di Maria De Filippi” and was signed to Universal Music. In 2012 she won the Sanremo Music Festival with the song “Non è l’inferno”. She has been highly successful in Italy and has charted in neighbouring Switzerland.
With RAI wanting to grow their TV viewing audience for Eurovision, both of these acts could garner ratings for the broadcaster while also seeing Italy maintain their Top 10 placings at the contest since their return in 2011.
Would you like to see Giusy or Emma at Eurovision 2014?

It would seem Italy sure does like their singers who have Amy Winehouse similarities :D These two sure do seem promising!
That is a very good comparison Arianna. They like the old school soul and do it with such style
