Disgraced former Irish Politician (TD) Paul Gogarty, has announced that he is trying to enter Eurovision and even submitted a song for 2013 to RTE. For the international readers – Gogarty was a former Politician in Ireland who was a member of The Green Party. He is most noted for his foul language outbreak one afternoon in the Irish Parliament.

He told the Irish Sun: “It’s an electronic-based song, the album version is very different. I remixed the original and it sounds almost a bit like New Order. I submitted it for Eurovision but obviously wasn’t successful. I’ve written an album’s worth of material. I’ve been sending it to DJs in Germany and overseas because it has a Euro-funk sound.”

Having left politics, Gogarty turned to music and has formed a band called “His Sweet Surprise”. They moved from folk to electro music. One of his songs that we have found is “Molly Is a Liar”. This (anti-drug) song was inspired by comments made by Madonna at a concert in April of 2012 when she asked had anyone seen ‘Molly’. She later claimed that this was a reference to a song by Cedric Gervais “Have You Seen Molly” and nothing to do with the drug Ecstasy.

Now we have to admit that we rather like this song from last year but we really cannot see  Paul on a Eurovision Stage. Sure we might be afraid that if he didn’t get 12 points that he may have an outburst like this one he had in the Irish Parliament.

Time will tell if German DJ’s will take Gogarty’s music and make it a hit.
