Belarus – “Rhythm of Love” replaced by “Solayoh”

Belarus

Alyona Lanskaya and Belarus have been suspected of changing their already selected Eurovision “Rhythm of Love” for several weeks now. It looks as if the rumors are true as the ethnic/pop fusion song “Solayoh” has been released. Today the song has appeared on i-tunes and is being shown on YouTube as the Belarus Entry for Eurovision 2013.

The song “Solayoh” has been composed by Marc Paelinck and Martin King. You may recognise these names as Marc Paelinck, a Belgian composer, has written three past Eurovision songs – Belgium in 2002 and 2004, and Malta in 2009.

Yesterday the song “Solayoh” was released by Lanskaya through the German record label CAP-Sounds on their digital download music website and was labelled as “Eurovision version”. Reports are now coming through that BTRC (National Broadcaster of Belarus) are confirming that “Solayoh” is the new entry for Belarus at Eurovision 2013.

We have found a recording of the song on YouTube. What do you think of “Solayoh”? Or do you prefer Rhythm of Love”?

    • I have to admit I liked “Rhythm Of Love” and especially as it was the first song selected for 2013 – but I like Solayoh” too. Very latin in flavor don’t you think PJ?

  1. I wasn’t expecting to like Belarus’s entry but I actually quite like it. It’s certainly not a great number but it has some good qualities. I like the uptempo beat and the drums plus it has a very catchy chorus and it has a summery feel which isn’t a bad thing imo. I’m just not a big fan of the way Belarus selects their entries and then chop and change to suit themselves, tends to leave a bad taste in my mouth. Currently ranked 12th on my list.
