SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster, have revealed participant reservations, regarding the new format of Melodifestivalen 2026 – their national selection for the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest, in Vienna.
Following the first dress rehearsal for Heat One of Melodifestivalen 2026, participants have raised reservations regarding the format change – the final qualifier will be announced exclusively on SVT Play, rather than the main broadcast on SVT 1. Jacqline had the following to say to ESC Insight:
“I feel like maybe not all of the people that are watching are going to transfer over to the app, so maybe they’re not going to see who qualifies.”
