DR, the Danish national broadcaster, have confirmed their continued non-participation at the 2026 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
FOLLOWING the recognition of the positive implementation of new measures at the Contest, aimed at protecting young artists, DR have confirmed they are staying away from the Contest for another year. Marlene Boel, the Head of Children’s Department at DR, had the following to say:
“At DR, our top priority for children’s music content remains our domestic production MGP, which we consider a solid and established platform, specifically tailored to Danish children and their everyday lives.
While we constantly evaluate our participation in international projects, DR has no plans to return to Junior Eurovision in 2026.”
