
The EBU, the European Broadcasting Union, have confirmed the number of participants allowed for the 2026 Eurovision Young Musicians, in Yerevan.
According to the EBU, the participation limit could increase for the 2026 edition, this is despite the ORIGINAL PLAN was to keep the limit in line with 2024. Amelie Rossignol, the EBU’s official representative for the Eurovision Young Musicians project, had the following to say:
“While our previous target was 11, we are now considering including an additional country, which would bring the total to 12. I can confirm that this will not affect the format; it will remain a one-show event.”
In regards to the number of broadcasters returning to the Contest, Amelie Rossignol, had the following to say:
“It is a pleasure to see them back in 2026. Their return highlights the depth of their classical roots, from Latvia’s reputation for world-class soloists to the unique musical styles of Portugal and Cyprus. With their return, these countries are giving their talented young performers well-deserved international recognition, ensuring that their rich traditions reach a new generation.”
