
France Télévisions, the French national broadcaster, have confirmed that they will not host the 2026 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
France Télévisions have confirmed that they will not host the 2026 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Due to financial reasons, France Televisions needs to make savings of €140 million. France Télévisions gave the following statement:
“A further reduction in the cost of the national programming schedule, in particular thanks to the full-year effects of the 5% reduction in the cost of streaming programmes that began in September 2025, an increase in the rebroadcasting creative programmes, cutting certain programmes and a possible resale of one or more sporting events broadcast rights. France Télévisions is also declining to host Junior Eurovision 2026.”
