HRT, the Croatian national broadcaster, have discussed continued participation, following their return to the 2025 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in Tbilisi.
Following their win at the debut Contest in 2003 and their return after fourteen years, Tomislav Štengl, Croatian Head of Delegation, had the following to say:
“It is still being said at the Junior Eurovision “that Croatia was first, so when will you come back.” It is difficult to briefly formulate why we were not there for 11 years. To make it work, you need to separate finances, you need to find a representative. We had some lucky and some not so lucky attempts. Let’s say this is a start, we hope for a good placement. We want this to be a continuity now.”
