BNT, the Bulgarian national broadcaster, have confirmed a national selection, for the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest, in Vienna.
BNT has signed an agreement with PROPHON in order to find participants for the national selection, which will take place in January – on a date to be confirmed. BNT Board Member, Anton Andonov, had the following to say:
“The BNT team has been working hard for several weeks on the rules and criteria for the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, which next year will celebrate its 70th anniversary in Austria. That is why the agreement with PROPHON is extremely important for us, as it provides us with a clear criterion by which to invite the best and most convertible Bulgarian artists for the national selection, and not to rely on personal impressions, subjective selection, etc.”
Chairman of the Board of PROPHON, Viktor Kasamov, had the following to say:
“For many years, PROPHON has been doing media monitoring in Bulgaria with a Spanish company and now we are glad that we can be useful in the participation of the Bulgarian artist for Eurovision on behalf of PROPHON. We present the information that is necessary for the selection of participants from Bulgaria to be objective and most precise.”
