STVR, the Slovak national broadcaster, have opened song submissions for Košický zlatý poklad 2025 – the 41st edition, founded in 1980.

The aim of Košický zlatý poklad is to find the best new original Slovak song and promote Slovak performers. The rules of the contest are as follows (the full rules are HERE):

• The song can only be performed in Slovak
• Songs may not have been published online before the competition
• The song must be submitted to STVR by 23:59 CEST on Sunday 31st August

Up to twelve songs will be chosen to go through to the final on Saturday 18th October. The songs will be played on Rádiu Slovensko ahead of the final. The winner will be chosen by a jury. There will be four prizes, they are:

• First Place – €1,800 and more than 50 plays on Rádiu Slovensko until June 30, 2026
• Second Place – €1,100 and 50 plays on Rádia Regina until June 30, 2026
• Third Place – €700 and 20 broadcasts on Rádia Regina until June 30, 2026
• SOZA – Award for the best lyrics
