🇨🇭 #ESC25: Basel Diaries – Days 1 & 2

This year, as we have in recent years, we have had a slightly different start to the Eurovision Song Contest. We haven’t got access to the first week of rehearsals. We have hopefully adapted to this to bring you the coverage you have all grown to expect.

Day 1 for us was about travelling to Basel and finding our Airbnb in rural France – about 20 minutes from the Swiss border. Easier said than done – thinking we’d ordered the Uber from the French side, we actually had to pick up from the Swiss side. It’s possible to do, but too much detail to explain here. James had arrived the day before and met us at the Airbnb – including pizza so we could eat.

Day 2 today was spent watching the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest, the last hosted in Switzerland, while waiting for Lisa to arrive from Rome and the hire car. After a failed attempt to summon an Uber to do a food shop in the morning, once the car arrived we found a convenience store of sorts to purchase emergency supplies before a proper food shop tomorrow.

As of today, the team members coming to Basel from Eurovision Ireland, OnEurope and All Out Eurovision are all under the same roof, ready to bring you the quality original content you expect from our coverage.
