
This year at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, in Basel, Ireland will be marking 60 years since their first participation. Today we continue with 1977.
1977 – “It’s Nice to Be in Love Again”
In 1977, when the Contest was held in London, the United Kingdom, The Swarbriggs Plus Two represented Ireland with “It’s Nice to Be in Love Again”. The Swarbriggs Plus Two finished in 3rd place and 119 points.
1978 – “Born to Sing”
In 1978, when the Contest was held in Paris, France, Colm C. T. Wilkinson represented Ireland with “Born to Sing”. Colm finished in 5th place and 86 points.
1979 – “Happy Man”
In 1979, when the Contest was held in Jerusalem, Israel, Cathal Dunne represented Ireland with “Happy Man”. Cathal finished in 5th place and 80 points.
1980 – “What’s Another Year?”
In 1980, when the Contest was held in The Hague, the Netherlands, Johnny Logan represented Ireland with “What’s Another Year?”. Johnny Logan finished in 1st place and 143 points.
1981 – “Horoscopes”
In 1981, when the Contest was held in Dublin, Ireland, Sheeba represented Ireland with “Horoscopes”. Sheeba finished in 5th place and 105 points.
1982 – “Here Today, Gone Tomorrow”
In 1982, when the Contest was held in Harrogate, the United Kingdom, The Duskeys represented Ireland with “Here Today, Gone Tomorrow”. The Duskeys finished in 11th place and 49 points.
