🇱🇹 #JESC25: Lithuanian Participation Still A Possibility

LRT, the Lithuanian national broadcaster, have confirmed that participation is still a possibility at the 2025 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

FOLLOWING the announcement that LRT would not be returning to the Contest in 2025, LRT Vaikai, the Lithuanian children’s channel, have revealed that they will consult different groups of children and ask for their opinions on a wide range of programming – including the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

In terms of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, the question posed to the different groups of children will be: “Should we organise a Junior Eurovision selection?” Beyond that question, no further details are discussed.

LRT Vaikai is aimed at 2-12 year olds and also has an official YouTube channel – following the Dutch model of NPO Zapp. The consultations will be split across four age groups: 4-6, 7-12, 13-15 and 16-19. The consultations will typically last between 30 to 90 minutes and will be conducted using children of LRT employees & educational partners.
