
The Eurovision Song Contest Reference Group has been updated and will meet following the 2025 Contest, in Basel.
Ana Maria Bordas (RTVE/Spain) will take over from Bakel Walden (outgoing from SSR SRG/Switzerland) in June, as the Chair of the Reference Group. Carla Bugalho, Claudia van der Pas & Molly Plank will also be joining the Reference Group. Following her appointment, Ana Maria Bordas had the following to say:
“I am honoured and excited to take on the role of Chair of the Reference Group from June.
It’s a privilege to follow in Bakel’s footsteps, and I’m eager to build on the great work that has already been achieved. I look forward to working with the team to develop actions to reinforce the ESC brand and ensure that all delegations feel more involved and engaged in our work.”
The Reference Group from June 2025, will consist of the following members:
- EBU: Martin Österdahl – EBU Executive Supervisor
- Spain (RTVE): Ana Maria Bordas – Chair of the Reference Group
- Switzerland (SSR SRG): Moritz Stadler – Organiser in 2005
- Sweden (SVT): Ebba Adielsson – Organiser in 2024
- United Kingdom (BBC): Rachel Ashdown – Organiser in 2023
- Denmark (DR): Molly Plank – HoD Representative
- Netherlands (AVROTROS): Claudia van der Pas – HoD Representative
- Portugal (RTP): Carla Bugalho – HoD Representative
