
Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s March 5th:
Saturday 5th March 1966
On this day in 1966, the 11th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest took place in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg. The Austria took victory with Udo Jürgens performing “Merci, Chérie” and 31 points.
