
Chilean media, La Tercera, have reported further details for ‘Eurovision Latin America’, FOLLOWING previous rumours that Chile would be hosting the inaugural Contest, in October.
Culto Omar Retamal, Voxovation’s representative for Eurovision Latin America, has revealed the following details to La Tercera. Ten countries have confirmed to be participating in the inaugural Contest, with Chile as the only named country to date. It was hoped for fifteen participating countries in the inaugural Contest.
Chile are also amongst four countries in the running to host the Contest. The Ministry of Cultures, the Arts and Heritage are backing the Chilean bid, with the proposal already been submitted to the Presidency team for evaluation.
The format for Eurovision Latin America would follow the format set by the Eurovision Song Contest, however there will be some adaptations to reflect the cultural diversity of Latin America. Other aspects, such as the turquoise carpet/welcome ceremony & promotion of the host nation, will also be included in the Eurovision Latin America format.
