
Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s December 2nd:
Saturday 2nd December 2006
On this day in 2006, the 4th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place in Bucharest, Romania. Portugal, Serbia & Ukraine debuted, while Cyprus returned. Denmark, Latvia, Norway, Serbia and Montenegro & the United Kingdom all withdrew. Russia took victory with the Tolmachevy Twins performing “Vesenniy Jazz” and 154 points.
