
Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s November 20th:
Sunday 20th November 2016
On this day in 2016, the 14th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place in Valletta, Malta. Cyprus, Israel & Poland all returned. Montenegro, San Marino & Slovenia all withdrew. Georgia took victory with Mariam Mamadashvili performing “Mzeo” and 239 points.
Saturday 20th November 2010
On this day in 2010, the 8th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place in Minsk, Belarus. Moldova debuted, while Latvia & Lithuania returned. Cyprus & Romania withdrew. Armenia took victory with Vladimir Arzumanyan performing “Mama” and 120 points.
Saturday 20th November 2004
On this day in 2004, the 2nd edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place in Lillehammer, Norway. France & Switzerland debuted. Spain took victory with María Isabel performing “Antes muerta que sencilla” and 171 points.
