The EBU, the European Broadcasting Union, have revealed further details after the findings of their independent investigation was revealed YESTERDAY.
Jean Philip De Tender, Deputy Director-General and Media Director for the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), has revealed that Martin Österdahl will remain in the role as Executive Supervisor, however some of his responsibilities will be transferred to the new ESC Director – who has yet to be named. Jean Philip De Tender had the following to say:
“There’s now so much responsibility with the Executive Supervisor, new responsibilities that have come to be added to the task, that we thought it’s better that we divide the roles and the responsibilities.
70 years ago, when the Eurovision Song Contest stated, the rules were basically one page. Now it’s hundreds of pages. We want to ensure that everybody understands them, that they are easily accessible but that we also explain them in a clear way to everybody.”
