RTVE, the Spanish national broadcaster, has chosen Madrid as the host city of the 2024 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
In a move surprised by all, Madrid has been chosen as the host city, with the venue chosen as the Caja Mágica. The Caja Mágica is also home to the ATP Tennis Tournament in Spain. The Contest will be held on Saturday 16th November – the first time the Contest has been held on a Saturday since 2015.
Martin Österdahl, Executive Supervisor of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, had the following to say:
“We’re very excited to be heading to Madrid 55 years after the Spanish capital hosted its last Eurovision event. We are looking forward to seeing RTVE’s exciting ideas to make this wonderful venue come alive, and to welcoming young artists from across Europe to Caja Mágica in November.”
