#BIRTHDAY: Molly Sterling from Ireland is 26 today

We like today’s birthday girl, and not just because she’s Irish. Some of us went on a boat trip with her, and chewed the fat for hours. It was a defining moment in 2015.

Today’s birthday girl Molly Sterling was, at the time, Ireland’s youngest ever participant and was very hard done to in Vienna. Her song had a very profound lyric which was very clever. The trouble was that she was second on in her semi-final – never a promising start. She got a high score from the UK of stuff, which was most important. But whatever happened, she’ll always be a star.
