
Welcome to our new ‘Top of the Pops’ charts – with a Eurovision twist! On a regular basis, we will bring you a new chart with a Eurovision theme. This week, we are celebrating the Top 25 Scoring Irish Entries Since 1975 ahead of Eurosong 2024. Today, we take a look at positions 25 to 21.
25: 1982 – The Duskeys, “Here Today, Gone Tomorrow”
The Duskeys represented Ireland at the 1982 Contest in Harrogate. The Duskeys scored 49 points with the song “Here Today, Gone Tomorrow”, finishing in 11th place.
24: 2003 – Mickey Harte, “We’ve Got the World”
Mickey Harte represented Ireland at the 2003 Contest in Riga. Mickey scored 53 points with the song “We’ve Got the World”, finishing in 11th place.
23: 1976 – Red Hurley, “When?”
Red Hurley represented Ireland at the 1976 Contest in The Hague. Red scored 54 points with the song “When?”, finishing in 10th place.
22: 1998 – Dawn Martin, “Is Always Over Now”
Dawn Martin represented Ireland at the 1998 Contest in Birmingham. Dawn scored 64 points with the song “Is Always Over Now”, finishing in 9th place.
21: 1975 – The Swarbriggs, “That’s What Friends Are For”
The Swarbriggs represented Ireland at the 1975 Contest in Stockholm. The Swarbriggs scored 68 points with the song “That’s What Friends Are For”, finishing in 9th place.
