
Uzbekistan have become the first country to show support since Russia announced the intentional return of the Intervision Song Contest. The Uzbek Prime Minister has expressed support of the Russian Ministry of Culture.
The Uzbek Prime Minister, Abdulla Aripov, had the following to say:
“We support the initiative of Russian partners to hold the international popular song competition Intervision.”
Mikhail Mishustin, the Russian Prime Minister, has spoken about the Ministry of Culture’s plans:
“According to their plan, it could become annual and open to the participation of all states that share our spiritual values and are ready for mutually respectful and equal dialogue. The first such event is planned to be held next year in Russia. Rules will be determined together with partner countries creative competition. We will form a permanent organising committee and select representatives of the national jury.”
