LRT, the Lithuanian national broadcaster, have announced a planned return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest – in 2025.

LRT have already announced a live broadcast of this year’s Contest from Nice and have now confirmed a live broadcast of the 2024 Junior Eurovision Song Contest too. A decision on a return in 2025 will be decided by the ratings from the 2023 & 2024 broadcasts. Andrius Korenka, the Head of the LRT television department, had the following to say:

“LRT will broadcast the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2023 and 2024, but we will not take part. If the ratings are good, we will consider our participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025.”
