
Czech Republic will now be known as Czechia as of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Czechia became the revised official English language name of the country in 2016. It took until last year (2022), for the United Nations, UEFA and the International Olympic Committee to recognise the revised name.
Ahmad Halloun, the Head of International Press for Czechia at the Eurovision Song Contest, revealed the news in a recent tweet:
