
Over the course of October and November, on the lead up to the 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, we will be celebrating the countries that have participated at the Contest. Today, we celebrate Belgium.
Belgium debuted at the inaugural Contest in 2003, in Copenhagen, Denmark. X!NK finished in sixth place with their entry “De vriendschapsband”, scoring 83 points. This included one set of twelve points from The Netherlands.
The most successful entry from Belgium was in 2009, when the Contest took place in Kyiv, Ukraine. Laura Omloop finished in fourth place with her entry “Zo verliefd (Yodelo)”, scoring 113 points. This included five sets of twelve points – from Malta, The Netherlands, North Macedonia, Serbia and the EBU.
The most recent entry from Belgium was in 2012, when the Contest took place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Fabian finished in fifth place with his entry “Abracadabra”, scoring 72 points. This included one set of twelve points from the EBU.
