
The BBC, the British national broadcaster, have confirmed their participation at the 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in Yerevan, Armenia.
The process in to select the act and song is now under way and is been led by CBBC with BBC Studios Entertainment and Music. The act and song representing the UK will be announced in due course. The Contest will air on CBBC, BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Patricia Hidalgo, Director of BBC Children’s and Education, had the following to say:
“We are beyond excited to bring the Junior Eurovision Song Contest to the BBC for the first time, and to showcase the diverse young musical talent from across Europe for children and their families to discover and enjoy together.”
The UK participated in the first three Junior Eurovision Song Contests, when ITV participated and broadcast the Contest.
