Today, the 2022 Commonwealth Games continues to take place, in Birmingham, the United Kingdom. Each day throughout the Games, will be looking at the Commonwealth nations that have sent artists to the Eurovision Song Contest. Today we are looking at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest & Eurovision Choir – through the Youth Commonwealth Games, last held last year.

Jael was Australia’s entry in 2018, when the Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place in Minsk, Belarus. Jael performed “Champion”, finishing in 3rd place, with 201 points. At the Youth Commonwealth Games, Australia have had a successful medal haul up to and including the 2021 Games, with 🥇 – 171, 🥈 – 133 and 🥉 – 112.

Cory Spedding was the United Kingdom’s entry in 2004, when the Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place in Lillehammer, Norway. Cory performed “The Best is Yet to Come”, finishing in 2nd place, with 140 points. At the Youth Commonwealth Games, England (UK) have had a successful medal haul up to and including the 2021 Games, with 🥇 – 157, 🥈 – 135 and 🥉 – 102.

Côr Merched Sir Gâr was Wales’ entry in 2017, when Eurovision Choir took place in Riga, Latvia. Côr Merched Sir Gâr performed “O, Mountain, O”, “Mil harddach” and “Wade in the Water”, finishing in 2nd place. At the Youth Commonwealth Games, Wales have had a successful medal haul up to and including the 2021 Games, with 🥇 – 13, 🥈 – 34 and 🥉 – 30.
