Tonight, the Opening Ceremony of the 2022 Commonwealth Games takes place, in Birmingham, the United Kingdom. Just like in the Eurovision Song Contest, a flag parade will take place as part of the opening of the event.

Back in 2014, Australia’s Jessica Mauboy took to the stage in Glasgow to perform “Sea of Flags”, the song she performed as one of the interval acts, at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, in Copenhagen, Denmark. In Glasgow, this performance formed part of the Games handover to the Gold Coast organising committee.
