SRG SSR, the Swiss national broadcaster, have announced that they will not return to the Eurovision Young Musicians this year. No further reasons were given.

Switzerland last participated at the Contest in 2008. Switzerland did host the Contest twice, in 1984, when Geneva was the host city and in 2004, when Lucerne was the host city.
