WDR, the German regional broadcaster, have confirmed their participation at the 2022 Eurovision Young Musicians, in Montpellier. They are one of the eleven countries that were due to participate at the cancelled 2020 Contest due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

It is currently unclear how they were select their representative. Germany has won the Contest twice, in 1982 when the Contest was held in Manchester and in 1996, when the Contest was held in Lisbon.
