Monaco will see a new Public Service Broadcaster launch in 2022, to replace TMC, which is now 100% owned by TF1, the French national broadcaster. Monte-Carlo Riviera will launch in 2022 – focussing on news, documentaries, talk shows and content close to Prince Albert of Monaco.
September 2022 is the expected launch month for Monte-Carlo Riviera, who have already agreed a partnership with TV5Monde, who will broadcast one daily news programme from the new broadcaster and other additional content.
The launch of the new channel co-insides with the state budget placing €100,000 aside for participation at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest. Participation in 2023 would require Monte-Carlo Riviera to gain EBU membership before December 2022.
