Both ABC and SBS, the Australian national broadcasters, have both confirmed that neither broadcaster will be returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year, in Paris. Two days after ABC announced their non-return, SBS gave Aussievision the following statement:

“Due to the current travel restrictions, Australia will not be competing in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021.”

Australia join Italy in staying away from the Contest for a second consecutive year, due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
