
Over the course of April and May, on the lead up to the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, we will be celebrating the countries that are participating this year in Rotterdam. Today, we celebrate Bulgaria.
Bulgaria debuted at the Contest in 2005, in Kyiv, Ukraine. Kaffe finished in nineteenth place in the Semi Final, with their entry “Lorraine”, scoring 49 points.
The most successful entry from Bulgaria was in 2017, when the Contest took place in Kyiv, Ukraine. Kristian Kostov finished in second place with his entry “Beautiful Mess”, scoring 615 points. This included four sets of jury twelve points from Belarus, Estonia, North Macedonia and Norway. This also included seven sets of televote twelve points from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Czech Republic, Hungary, North Macedonia, San Marino and the United Kingdom.
The most recent Bulgarian entry was due to be in 2020, when the cancelled Contest was due to take place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Victoria was due to represent Bulgaria with her entry “Tears Getting Sober”.
This year, Bulgaria will be represented by Victoria with her song “Growing Up Is Getting Old”. Will Victoria take Bulgaria to their first victory?
