
Over the course of November and on the lead up to the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, we will be celebrating the countries that have participated at the Contest. Today, we celebrate Bulgaria.
Bulgaria debuted at the Contest in 2007, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Bon-Bon finished in seventh place with her entry “Bonbolandiya”, scoring 86 points. This included one set of twelve points from the EBU.
The most successful entry from Bulgaria was in 2014, when the Contest took place in Marsa, Malta. Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim finished in second place with their entry “Planet of the Children”, scoring 147 points. This included five sets of twelve points – from Croatia, Cyprus, Serbia, The Netherlands and the EBU.
The most recent Bulgarian entry was in 2016, when the Contest took place in Valletta, Malta. Lidia Ganeva finished in ninth place with her entry “Magical Day”, scoring 161 points. This included one set of twelve points from Poland.
