The Ukrainian broadcaster UA:PBC have told our friends over at Eurovoix that they will be withdrawing from the year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The decision is based on the financial difficulties that the broadcaster is currently facing – something that UA:PBC have made public for a while now.
Ukraine debuted in the Contest back in 2006 and have continued to participate every year. The Contest was held in Kyiv in 2009 and 2013, while their only victory was in 2012 – when Anastasiya Petryk sang “Nebo”.

Ukraine are the second country to withdraw from this year’s Contest after Cyprus. France are returning after appearing once in 2004, while Wales are making their debut.
