Netta took part in Rising Star, a competition held in Israel to search for their next Eurovision representative. Rising Star took place between October of last year, through to February.

After ten audition rounds, a shortlisting round, six heats, a quarter final, semi final and the final, Netta was chosen to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Her song ‘Toy’ was internally selected. Netta didn’t like the original version of the song, but once the inclusion of the chicken sounds were included, she was said to have been won over.
