And the names kept rolling in! And it’s the contestant who will have to travel the second furthest (thank you, Australia!) to get to Lisbon – the singer for Azerbaijan!

Azerbaijani broadcaster Ictimai TV have announced that after an ‘intense’ internal selection, Aisel Mammadova will represent the Land of Fire at Eurovision 2018 next May.

Hailed by her fans as a ‘sultry-voiced jazz and soul singer’, Aisel is also known for writing her own material. Thought at this early stage, it is unknown whether she will pen her own entry, or have a track written for her.
