#CZECH REPUBLIC – 300 songs become just 5!

czec

In January we usually learn the name of the Czech artist for Eurovision. Will it be the same this year? Well, let’s see what we know so far:

At the end of November, Czech broadcaster ČT announced that they had received over 300 songs all hoping to be the next Czech Eurovision entry. Head of delegation Martin Broz then told escportal.cz  that an expert jury was tasked with narrowing all these submissions down to just five songs, before choosing an overall winner. The final 5 songs have now been selected, and now negotiations are under way to find suitable performers.

The jury is expected to announce the  Czech Republic’s representative for Eurovision 2017 at either the end of January or the beginning of February. It’s not yet clear if the song and artist will be announced together, or separately.

Keep czeching back ;-) and we’ll find out!
