The ‘Shady Lady’ from Ukraine is still determined not to be drawn into the Ukrainian-Russian political war that ensues between both countries to the disapproval of politicians and some fans.
Ani Lorak – Ukraine’s Eurovision Runner-Up in 2008 – has refused to be drawn into debate on the current political situation between her home country of Ukraine and the country where she remains hugely popular Russia.
Lorak celebrated her 37th birthday on September 27th by performing in St. Petersburg at the ‘Ice Palace’. Lorak partied with Philip Kirkorov, Sergey Lazarev, Timur Rodriguez and other Russian stars as you can see below in the Instagram video posted by Kirkorov.
Lorak has come under pressure from Ukrainian politicians who question her award ‘People’s Artist of Ukraine’ as she continues to travel and work in Russia.
What do you think of Ani Lorak performing in Russia? Do you agree with politicians that she should not be a recipient of the ‘People’s Artist of Ukraine’? Or should singers not be drawn into politics?
Let us know.
