ITALY – The public vote nudges Il Volo over the winning post in Sanremo last night as they won the right to represent Italy at Eurovision 2015
The winner of the Sanremo Festival last night was a combination of 3 sets of votes that RAI have released
Public – 40%
The Press – 30 %
The Expert Jury – 30%
So what were the breakdown results?
Public Vote (40%)
1) Il Volo – 56.2%
2) Nek – 33.4%
3) Malika Ayane – 10.4%
Expert Jury Vote (30%)
1) Malika Ayane – 39.6%
2) Nek – 37.5%
3) Il Volo – 22.9%
Press Vote (30%)
1) Nek – 36.0%
2) Il Volo – 32.3%
3) Malika Ayane – 31.7%
Overall Vote (100%)
1) Il Volo – 39.0%
2) Nek – 35.4%
3) Malika Ayane – 25.6%
So as you can see there was a split vote in the 3 categories! If the Public and Jury votes had been of equal weighting then the result would have been even closer!
Il Volo were by far the Public’s Favourite. Will that be the same in Vienna?

So che il pubblico ha di destra. Nessuno può essere migliore di Il Volo. Forse la giuria di esperti guardato qualcos’altro?
I’m just wondering why the comment I wrote yesterday is still “waiting moderation.” Moderation of what?? This is all I wrote: IL VOLO!! Even if one does not appreciate their music genre (I do!!!), no one can deny that they have exquisite voices…individually and collectively.
Il Volo was by far the best of that competition. The public got it right and the expert jury must have beeb watching something else.
Since when is the public so unworthy to come to this result for Il Volo? I am glad the so called experts were overruled!
I know ILVOLO are the best!!!

I liked Nek a lot. Il Volo are following the trend of operatic boy/man groups doing well in talent/singing contests. It will be interesting to see if they change the song as Grande Amore does build to a lovely finish so perhaps they shouldn’t change it (memories of Nina Zilli). A return to the top 10 should be on the cards for Italy 2015. Good luck.
Three strong acts with three strong songs !
I’m not sure the public got it right.
I’d have voted the same way as the press – 1st : Nek, 2nd : II Volo, 3rd : Malika.
