Ukraine : Maria Yaremchuck took Ukraine to a popular and well deserved 6th place at Eurovision 2015. She returns with a new song ‘Protiv Vetra/Go Against The Wind’.

The song is a passionate and orchestral ballad that could not be more different to her Eurovision dance floor filler ‘Tick Tock’. Anyone who had doubts of Maria’s vocal ability will be silenced as her voice takes centre stage.

The song however is performed in Russian. Not getting political at all but it does seem somewhat strange as maria was one of the performers on Ruslana’s tour supporting the Ukrainian troops opposing the Russian advancing army – See HERE

However this could be a direct plea to Russian citizens to ‘Go against the wind’ and not follow the growing tensions between both countries.

However the song is passionate and dare I say it something that would have resonated well with Eurovision voters in Copenhagen.

Let us know what you think of the song?

Marks out of 12 : We have to give this a strong 8 points.
